- A couple of things. Firstly if you don't have toolmanager, get it from
- Aminet and install it. This, IMHO, should have been part of the
- standard distribution ages ago. With this, you'll be able to set up an
- appicon on the workbench for multiview, which you can just drop things
- over and have them viewed/whatever.
-
- Another piece of software that will really make your life easier with
- this sort of thing is NewIconsV2, also on Aminet. This gives you
- pretty pen-shared icons, as well as providing functionality you want
- in that it allows you to double click on a file, even one with no icon
- associated with it (using show all files), and then have certain
- actions performed on it according to filetype. If it's an iconless
- file, you'll get a little string gadget up with the command all neatly
- typed out for you, at which point you can edit it, or press return (or
- click OK) and the command will be executed.

- The fkeys commodity on the Workbench disks goes some way towards
- providing this. There are better commodities you can get which go a
- lot further though. I use one called Angie (probably on Aminet,
- although I haven't checked), which allows you to redefine all sorts of
- actions and is very powerful.
-
- Good luck. All this commodity, tooltypes, appicons, etc. stuff may
- seem a little daunting at first, but stick at it, and you'll see that
- your new Amiga is really a very powerful and customisable piece of
- kit. You just need to know what PD software to download. :-)
